Starwars fever is fast approaching with the release of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in May. The Starwars franchise is stronger than ever and the amount of stuff you can buy that is Starwars related is phenominal. Episode 1 is probably the most anticipated movie of the century.
The success of Starwars is like no other film. The reason it has been so successful has to be the way that it appeals to every age group. As far as I know, no other film has managed to do this to the extent the Starwars trilogy has.
Like most movies today, there are the usual collectables available. They range from action figures to cards to computer games to reference CD-Rom's. There are also the more unusual collectables, such as costumes and special edition board games (Starwars Monopoly and Starwars Trivial Pursuit).
'A New Hope' was released in 1978 and was an instant success. It started the revolution in cinema that has influenced movies ever since. The special effects were like none ever seen before and the variety of characters and costumes were unrivaled.
